What is NDI® Classroom?
NDI Classroom is both an initiative and a product line.
NDI Classroom is an initiative to redefine the high school smart classroom by utilizing the power of NDI 5.0 and the Elgato Stream Deck.
NDI Classroom custom workstations and a PTZ Camera with NDI is installed in the classroom. The NDI Classroom supercharge workstation is controlled with an Elgato Stream Deck custom profile. The workstation is loaded with Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft Office and many free, powerful NDI applications. NDI Classroom workstations can also remotely control the NewTek TriCaster TC1 Pro or TriCaster 2 Elite switcher located in the media center control room. This will extend the footprint of the media department to lecture halls, the auditorium, gym or any other location in the high school connected to the NDI network.
NDI Classroom setup includes:
- PTZ camera with NDI mounted to the rear wall of each classroom.
- Supercharged i9 Windows workstation with NVidia GeForce 6080TI or 6090 graphic cards & SSD drives located in the rear of the classroom.
- Customized NDI Classroom profile for Elgato Stream Deck to launch applications, execute macros, play music, videos and more.
- Using the Elgato Stream Deck, students access preprogrammed online training for NewTek TriCaster, 3Play, NDI Tools, Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere, Microsoft Office Suite.
- The Elgato Stream Deck provides infinite possibilities to customize each teachers curriculum.
- Powerful NDI software applications preloaded.
- (2)Touchscreen 24-inch LED monitors & (1) 55-inch LED Monitor.
NDI Classroom Curriculum:
- NDI Classroom workstation allows students in every class to record teacher or student presentations and store them on the local network.
- A directory is created for each student’s video content upon entering the high school.
- Presentations from every student, on any subject can be archived in their personal directory. Students will create a video resume of their development during their high school years. These student videos can then be used for college admissions and added to job applications.
- The Media/Video class can now use this recorded video content in the student’s curriculum to create the final MOV or AVI file. Adobe Photoshop, After Effects & Premiere are used in class to add titles, graphics and animations to the coursework to enhance the video production quality.
- Students utilize green screen and advanced virtual set libraries to create stunning, professional quality presentations.
- Teacher & student video coursework on any subject is created to be used in teach the next generation of students.
- Each teacher can easily create their own custom profile of their curriculum utilizing the Elgato Stream Deck.
- YouTube is used as the schools educational portal, making it free & easy for anyone around the world to learn from the online courses that are created.
- With NDI Classroom workstations in numerous classrooms, all students, not just the media program, will automatically be exposed to these powerful video applications.
- The NDI Classroom workstation, which includes an NVidia GeForce 3080TI or 3090 graphics card, also doubles as a high powered, Esports gaming workstation. School-wide Esports competition utilizing the school’s NDI video network is now possible. In addition to providing a fun activity for the students it exposes them to the Esports industry. In 2020, Esports revenues were $1.1 billion and it is expected to double by 2023.
